Jaipur is one of the most photogenic cities in India. With heritage architecture, drop-dead gorgeous interiors, and photogenic background here is the list of the most Instagram-worthy places of Jaipur for the perfect Jaipur photos.
There is a reason why Instagram has a Jaipur filter dedicated to the Pink City of India.
From the architectural wonders of yesteryear’s forts and palaces to the newly constructed gates, from intricately painted cafes to stunningly designed hotels, every corner and wall is a photo point in Jaipur. These beautiful Jaipur spots deserve a picture in your memory.

Best Instagram-worthy Places of Jaipur
While these places of Jaipur are amazing, also read this detailed guide on things to do in Jaipur.
Amer Fort
Amer Fort is the most popular landmark of Jaipur and rightly so.
The mighty fort has ample areas and places for clicking Instagram-worthy pictures.
Ganesh Pol of Amer Fort is the favourite photo destination as it is located in the main palace of the Amber Fort and has an unmatched architectural fusion of Rajput and Mughal styles.
Entering Ganesh Pol feels like royalty just like it was for the king and his family. This gate was exclusive to their entry into their private chambers without being disturbed. Ganesh Pol leads to scenic lawns of Mughal Garden in Amer Fort.
When to go: If you want tourist-free photos of Ganesh Pol, it is best to reach at least 30 minutes prior to opening, i.e. at 7:30 am. But if you are lazy like me and reach later, you will probably find a couple of seconds where there is no one in the frame. Be patient for your turn.
What to wear: There is a steep climb to reach Amer fort so you need comfortable clothes and footwear. Ideally, wear something with flare (dress or skirt) and colour to stand against the sandstone. Heels are a big no-no!

Hawa Mahal
Hawa Mahal is the icon of Jaipur and it is only valid to have been to Jaipur if you have a photo with it.
One of the busiest and best photography places of Jaipur, Hawa Mahal is buzzing with selfie-clicking tourists round the clock. It makes for a beautiful photograph during the day, during the evening around sunset as well as night.
No wonder Hawa Mahal is also popular for couple photography in Jaipur!
The catch with Hawa Mahal photography is to click it from a cafe facing the Hawa Mahal rather than actually going to the palace.
Two popular cafes that offer beautiful views of the Hawa Mahal are Tatto Cafe and Wind View Cafe. My personal favorite is Wind View cafe as it serves good coffee and snacks.
It is best to catch a breath from all that walking around overlooking the gorgeous Hawa Mahal, while of course photographing it. The cafe charges INR 10,000 for professional photography of Hawa Mahal from their premises while tourists are not charged anything. If you are regular with the cafe, the waiter even helps click a good photo of you!
When to go: My suggestion would be morning or last evening around sunset when the light is soft.
What to wear: Blacks, blues or greens work perfectly. Use props such as a hat or coffee mug while sipping a coffee.

City Palace, Jaipur
City Palace, Jaipur, undoubtedly has the best instagrammable places in Jaipur.
The grandeur of the palace speaks through the many royal rooms which are tastefully done in blue ceramics or mirrors or intricately carved gates.
City Palace features of the top Instagram-worthy places to visit in Jaipur but it comes at a steep price.
The Royal room visits are priced for INR 1500 and INR 3000 and I honestly think it is too high to get one photo for the gram. But tourists can visit the four gates representing the four seasons and that is an equally good opportunity.
When to go: Ideally at 12 noon. The reason is there is at least one gate which is shadowed due to the light and the photo doesn’t come out to be that great. At 12 noon the sun is directly on the head and equal light on all gates ensures good photos.
What to wear: A flowy dress or a saree with comfortable footwear. It is a flat surface but one needs to walk a lot.

Panna Meena ka Kund
Though many people get their photos walking down the stepwell, I was not allowed to do that saying it is not allowed for anyone.
I wonder how the people who got their photos clicked got permission in the first place?
If you are not allowed to go down the steps, you can still click from the Chhatris on the four corners and get a landscape of the entire place. It is a must-go photo destination in Jaipur. Read: Ultimate guide to Panna Meena ka Kund
When to go: Since it is open all day, you may try going super early to get photos walking down the steps. Otherwise, you can go anytime, actually.
What to wear: A churidar kurta with colourful dupatta.

Patrika gate
Patrika gate has risen to fame as a pre-wedding photo spot in Jaipur.
It is extremely popular with fashion photographers too.
Located a bit away from the city, near the Jaipur airport, tourists make sure to come here all the way to get their photos clicked. And it is worth it!
With the beautifully and intricately painted frescos in various colours, the Patrika gate is alluring heaven. No wonder it is one of the most Instagram-worthy places of Jaipur.
When to go: I will suggest going early morning. It has nothing to do with light but to avoid the crows. I reached at 7:30 am and there were already 2 pre-wedding shoots happening.
What to wear: Saree, Ghaghra choli or a dress with flare. The entire gate is super colourful so no matter what you wear, you will stand out.

Blue pottery Art Centre
Blue pottery art centre hardly features as one of the Instagram-worthy places of Jaipur but it is such an attractive place to do so. Do keep in mind that unless you buy something you won’t be allowed to click a photo. Read a detailed guide here: Jaipur Blue Pottery Art Centre
When to go: Anytime during store hours – 10 am to 8 pm.
What to wear: Anything which will be in contrast to the blue pottery.

Jal Mahal
Jal Mahal is popular as a sunrise spot in Jaipur.
The Palace in the middle of the lake against the mountains paints a beautiful backdrop. It is a lovely place to walk, jog or just see the sunrise while the birds go about their business.
The walkway tends to get busy with souvenir vendors so it is best to visit here in the morning. Talking about Souvenirs – check out my guide on Shopping in Jaipur.
When to go: Early morning around sunrise
What to wear: Silhouette photography is best here so anything you wear is good.

Nahargarh Fort
Honestly, Nahargarh fort is one of my favourite Instagram worthy places of Jaipur.
Though it is popular as the sunset spot in Jaipur overlooking the entire city, I feel the rooms inside the forts are a better spot for photography.
The rooms are details of beautiful Araish work with the sublime yellow colour palette making it classy and sophisticated. Even the view from the terrace of the entire Jaipur city is beautiful.
When to go: 4 pm so as to tour the fort and wait for the sunset.
What to wear: Bright reds, blues or blacks which stand out against the yellow background.

Galtaji Temple
Galtaji is a popular tourist attraction in Jaipur as it is home to a large colony of monkeys.
This has given rise to the common name of the complex known as the monkey temple.
Situated within the hilly regions of Aravalli hills, Galtaji temple is an important Hindu pilgrimage centre. The temple is surrounded by hills filled with vegetation and natural springs which fill up seven sacred kunds (water tanks).
The temple’s unique architecture, beautiful pavilions and unique position make it a vision to behold for any visitor.
When to go: Early morning to get tourist free photos.
What to wear: A flared skirt or dress or saree.

Royal Gaitor
The Royal Gaitor complex contains the cenotaphs of Jaipur’s former rulers.
It is one of the lesser-known attractions of Jaipur and demonstrates an impressive use of marble in its exquisite domes and carved pillars. Each cenotaph is unique in terms of architecture and the most ornate and beautiful cenotaph belongs to the Maharajah Sawai Jai Singh II made out of the finest white marble.
When to go: Evening is preferable when the light is soft.
What to wear: Anything traditional looks good here.

Apart from these tourist spots in Jaipur which are everyone’s favorite for Instagram worthy places to visit in Jaipur, there is a separate list for cafes and hotels. Out of them all, Bar Palladio is probably the Insta worthy cafe in Jaipur and Samode Palace for accommodation. You can book your stay at Samode Palace here.
Bar Palladio Jaipur
It boasts of being the prettiest bar and cafe in Jaipur and probably the whole of Rajasthan.
Bar Palladio Jaipur is located within a restored garden, in the historic Narain Niwas Palace Hotel. With wandering peacocks and mango trees outside and attractive cobalt blue interiors inside, it is an enchanting place for an early evening cocktail.
When to go: Early evening by 6:30 pm
What to wear: Anything that speaks opulence – White dress works perfectly.

Rajasthan is so regal! I haven’t been to Jaipur but Udaipur’s City Palace left me breathless! The frescos, the paintings, the jharokhas, the mirror work… everything is so opulent, so beautiful. Hope you had a grand time!
I did! Udaipur is probably my favorite place in Rajasthan, maybe because I have been there 4 times. But yes, everything in Rajasthan is full of grandeur. Jaipur is a just must visit. And whenever you go please keep at least 4 days.
This city looks like a dream come true!! I’m saving this blog & hoping I can see these places in person one day soon.
I hope you can make it to Jaipur soon. It is absolutely regal and amazing.
Your photos look incredible – I would love to visit one day! The Galtaji Temple looks out of this world 🙂
Thank you so much! If you ever come to India, Jaipur is a must-visit place. I hope you can visit soon 🙂
Wow those are the places I keep seeing on instagram..thanks for sharing these..I will visit them
Haha yes, I also jumped on the Insta bandwagon and clicked those exact same places. But they are too good not to!
Those buildings are simply stunning! Love the fine detail as well as the architecture. Definitely Instagram worthy!
Thank you so much Alma. You should definitely visit Jaipur sometime!
These all look incredible! Love your outfit on the Patrika gate photo a lot as well c: What a stunning place!
Thank you so much. It’s the Indian saree 🙂
Jaipur is the most beautiful city and these photos show it off perfectly. I had no idea! I do wonder, like you, how people managed to get their photos taken in areas which are forbidden – although I have seen people breaking these rules over and over again across the world for the sake of a photo. I love your recommendations for what to wear to get the best photos and I am with you completely about comfortable footwear!
Thank you, Jane. However, I did not click anywhere which was forbidden. I just don’t get the adventure out of it – I mean the rule was made for the safety only, right?
You’ve covered almost everything here. But I must add, Jaipur is one place one cannot travel solo. I wanted my pictures at so many places and I couldn’t get it properly by myself.
Haha, you said it and I quite agree. Talk about the downside of solo travelling!! And those who want to start a debate around carrying tripods, most places of interest in Jaipur (Palaces and Forts) do not allow tripods in their premises! You have to carry another human for it 😛
Rajasthan is on my bucket list and I am waiting for everything to be normal again before I venture out on a roadtrip
I hope that happens soon Anwesha. I will also probably head to Rajasthan first, given its proximity to my place, once it is safe.
This makes me happy and sad at the same time! We should have been in India this year over the time when it was my birthday and it was a country we had been looking forward to visiting for so long. But we had to come home early from our Asia trip because of the pandemic!! However, now I know so many more places to see when we do finally get there!
Aww I can imagine. This pandemic has tossed every plan on the earth! I am sure you will be able to come next year though 🙂
Maybe on the stairs, everyone was breaking the rules. I hate waking up early, but a beautiful sunset is worth it.
India has such stunning architecture and you’ve certainly highlighted great places to go. I would definitely want a cocktail at Bar Palladio Jaipur! Beautiful! And, the look of at Galtaji is captivating. Very helpful to include the time to go and what to wear – I would certainly need to pack more skirts and dresses!
Haha, even a saree if you are adventurous! 😉
You know, we have never realized how beautiful Jaipur really is and how many beautiful sites there are to visit! Most bloggers write about one specific site and since we have never been to Rajasthan and don’t know much about, we have always thought that there are just two are three main sites in Jaipur. Now after reading this post, we feel like we really need to add Jaipur to our bucket list. And especially go visit Galtaji Temple and Royal Gaitor!
Jaipur is seriously a gem! Even though I spent 3 days exploring all these places, I barely scratched the surface. I wish I had a week! If you do make it Jaipur, I would ideally suggest at least 5 days to do justice to the city.
The textures and colors of all the places you mention are stunning! The Patrika gate is probably my favorite although I’m loving the deep blue of the Bar Palladio Jaipur as well. I really like your suggestions of what to wear to match the scenery! This makes me want to go back to India once things are back to normal!
That’s a great plan Kevin, you are most welcome back in India 🙂
Useful compilation! The monkey temple I visited was different,on a small hill
Thank you Shrinidhi 🙂
Jaipur is such a vibrant city! I’ve been there many times, yet there are still so many places that I haven’t visited. Great post, will definitely keep these in mind for later visits 🙂
Glad to know you enjoyed the post, Avantika. And yes, Jaipur has that effect on the tourists – there is just so much to do and so little time!
I have been to pink city Jaipur many times as a tour manager. No doubt all the places you mentioned in the post are great to click some beautiful photographs and worth sharing on instgram. you have also given information about the places which very useful for anyone traveling the first time.
